Carrot Sticks Whoa. discussion this morning. with Mom. It all started with The Bass... ...and eventually ended up with her saying she knew i was "starting to like girls, or i wouldn't be so passionate about the whole gay rights issue"...and me explaining why i was actually involved with gay rights...but not actually saying anything on the issue of my own sexuality. Ever since i've started working on and discussing The Speech, people have been asking me if i like girls or not. I don't confirm or deny it. i just did the same thing with Mom. So sayeth Mom: "If you're going to be teetering...i just want to guide you to teeter more towards heterosexuality, simply for the reason that it's a lot harder to be bisexual or homosexual in today's world...it's added stress and trouble in an already difficult life." um. "and i want you to have more balance in your life, and hang around more people your own age...hang around some more people with more... conventional... views." *bites down hard on lip* "and i don't think it's healthy to discuss philosophy as much as you do. you'll lose touch with reality." well then. Now i'm being guided. I am at that age right now where i'm easily influenced, i need guidance. Now my mother is going to do what she says she "should have done manymany months ago" and Guide Me. Guide Me, I Need Guidance!!! "You are not going to be spending as much time on the internet as you do." My guess is it won't last too long. my mother is not fickle...she is merciful. She knows how important the internet is to me. She knows how important my friends are. Soon she'll understand that i have Carefully Considered her Guidance and am Making Good Healthy Choices. Like carrot sticks. Carrot sticks are a Good Healthy Choice. and Friends My Own Age. and "taking the focus off sexuality and back onto things like school and my future." And Dan Bern materialized on my sofa right then and there. and he said: "sometimes I think the thing to do would be to get a place way out in Missouri.... Put down as many months rent as you can part with... Tell everybody else you went to France." |
