Till The Atlantic's Dry

Part 1: Incoherant Convocation
2003-06-14 - 8:51 p.m.

awhile ago, i told myself i wouldn't post entries on less than 3 hours of sleep, as i have a tendency of posting stuff i later regret when i do so.

however, i am ignoring this guideline today. this kind of day has to be posted about in somewhat the heat of the moment.

last night i worked an 8 hour shift, until midnight. i then came home and talked to someone all night.

:)

it was well worth it though, even though i was all fuzzy-headed for Convocation.

the baccelaureate service was at 8:30. i didn't even know if i was supposed to run sound for it...but i went anyway, assuming i was. I wanted to hear Jaimie's end of year sermon anyway.

i had *one* sound cue. i had to call up the track for a CD and press play. i was so out of it, i even managed to mess that up. eep. eh...i corrected it pretty quickly though.

I found myself disagreeing with a lot of Jaimie's sermon...which i'll discuss tomorrow when i am more coherant.

i spent most of the actual convocation service (3 hours of listening to dean's uncle's brother's old president's boy scout leader's nephews give the same generic brand "inspiration speech" over and over again, while presenting awards)thinking about entirely selfish things. it was not a even a case of me assuming all the speeches were the same...i listened to all of them...they were all the same.

I was thinking about how I am entirely ashamed of myself for getting 19% on my math exam. Even after Gordon tutored me for hours upon hours.

Although, my english teacher came up to me and told me i wrote an excellent english exam and earned a "good solid A"...my computer science teacher *thanked* me, for whatever reason, for "writing such a good exam". Was thinking about that.

About Suzanne talking about Canada, the "YOU ARE FREE" speech. Wondering why i never realized before that Suzanne has some really interesting thoughts.

And after the service, goodbye to Clare and Ray and Kate.

not Jaimie though...Jaimie's not leaving. Jaimie's. NOT. LEAVING.

!!! YAY !!!

she's staying another year. i get to take World Religions class with her as the teacher.

oh, the good. you do not understand the *good* of this situation.

more tomorrow
